What Are Time Logs and Why Should I Use Them?

Time logs are a great tool for you to track how much time work takes to get done. This can help with accurately scheduling appointments and tracking your tech's hours.

Using the ServiceMonster mobile app, you or your techs can check in and out of appointments. Those will be recorded as time logs

How Can I or My Techs Check In and Out of Appointments?

You can check in or out of jobs from the ServiceMonster mobile app. Simply click on an appointment and then on the "Check In" button.




Where Can I View Time Logs?

If you have techs doing work in the field and want them to check in and check out of appointments, you can view and edit those time logs from within a few locations on the desktop version of ServiceMonster.

One thing to note, we highly recommend you include this as part of your order completion process, which you can easily do through the Completion Wizard. To learn more about that process click here.




Completion Wizard

If you are using the completion wizard, you can edit time logs from the “Update Appointments” tab.

Here you can add in or adjust your techs time logs. 

Add in a new time log by clicking on the small “+” icon on the right-hand side of the screen.





Schedule

You can view and edit time logs from the schedule as well. Simply double click on an appointment on the schedule.


This opens up the appointment details. Click on the “Time Logs” tab to view or edit the time logs.

Add in a new time log by clicking on the small “+” icon on the right-hand side of the screen.


Choose the Tech and check-in and check-out times. Then click on the green floppy disk icon to save the time log. 





Order Page

You can find and edit time logs from the order page by going to the “Appointment History” tab. 

If you click on the appointment type (Work, estimate, pickup, ect) that will open the appointment details page.


Click on the “Time Logs” tab to view or edit the time logs.


Add in a new time log by clicking on the small “+” icon on the right-hand side of the screen.

Choose the Tech and check-in and check-out times. Then click on the green floppy disk icon to save the time log.
